Frequently Asked Questions

Where is Christensen Golden Pups located?
  • We're located in Syracuse, Utah, US.
Can we visit your dogs at your home or kennel?
  • Yes you are able to visit the dogs at our home, infact we encourage you to visit. You can come and visit as often as you like in order to make the best decision for your family. We will also help you find a puppy based on their temperaments and what you are looking for.
  • What I have come to see is that you may see the dog you think is the one for you, however upon visiting you find there is another one that better suits your family's personality. You may come to visit and none of the puppies seem right for you. That's okay. We want the best situation for pup and family. Just remember that unless you put down a deposit on a specific puppy, we do not guarantee the pup to you.
How will I get my puppy if I'm out of area?
  • First off, we do not ship our puppies as this can cause severe anxiety in them. You must either come and pick up your puppy or arrange for delivery through us. We are willing to travel certain distances to either deliver or meet you for puppy pickup.  Just remember that this option will cost extra based on the distance and deposits must be paid. Out of area deposits will start at $600 and go up depending on the distance as to guarantee a truly interested owner.
How long do people wait on your waiting list?
  • Currently, we only have one dog that we focus on breeding. So it's typically 6 months. That way our India and the puppies get our individualized attention and care. If we decide to add a new dam, we will notify everyone on our waiting list when she is ready.

Are deposits refundable?
  • No, deposits are non-refundable. Once a person has placed a deposit, that puppy is no longer available to those interested. If someone cancels, we have to work to find a new perfect family. So it's important to be ready for your puppy, so you do not lose out on your deposit.
  • However, the deposits are transferrable for another litter (one time only).

Do you have to take the next available puppy if you are next on the wait list?
  • No, you can choose to pass on that litter. In addition, you will keep your spot in line on the waiting list.
Do puppies come with AKC breeding rights?
  • Not unless the owner has purchased breeding rights. Our puppies come with an AKC limited registration, which means they are associated with our litter at that point. We encourage all owners to register their puppies to their family on the AKC website as soon as possible.
How much is the deposit?
  • The initial deposit is $400, with the balance due at the time of Puppy pick up.
What should you expect when you receive your puppy?
  • Dew claws will have been removed.
  • Puppies are dewormed at six weeks old.
  • Wellness examination from certified Vet.
  • We will give your puppy his/her first set of vaccinations.
  • You will receive vaccination records, AKC paperswork and Puppy info.
  • Continued support.
  • New Puppy Gift
What happens if your puppy has health problems?
  • Our parents have been DNA tested, as well as cared for by certified Veterinarians, so we do not anticipate our puppies having any genetic issues. However, in the event that your Christensen Golden Pups puppy has a serious health problem verified by a Certified Vet with documentation (and reviewed by our Certified Vet) that is linked to an inherited genetic issue within the first 6 months, below are the following options:

  1. If you decide to keep the puppy we can offer the choice to reimburse 20% of your puppy purchase price, but you MUST HAVE a certified Vet's diagnosis and all pertaining documentation provided to us before we can consider moving forward.

  2. If you do not wish to keep the puppy, you can find another suitable home at your cost or surrender them to us receiving the amount of purchase price for the puppy minus the deposit and $100 surrender fee.

  • We will not reimburse any Veterinary cost(s) incurred from testing or checkup(s) during the time the puppy is in your care.
